The Legend

Only a few fishermen have actually seen the frogfish. It is said to be so ugly that it leaves men speechless from horror. This fish likes to swim where there are people to frighten. However, it has not bitten anyone. The reason people get so scared when meeting one is because it is an extremely grotesque fish.

La Leyenda

Solo unos pocos pescadores lo han visto. Se dice que es tan feo que los deja mudos de horror. A este pez le gusta nadar donde hay gente para asustarla; sin embargo no ha mordido a nadie. La razĆ³n por la que la gente se asusta mucho cuando lo ve es porque es un pez extremadamente grotesco.

Alternative Tourism

Generally, alternative tourism sites are attractive focal points in themselves, such as museums. Some sites are so special and vulnerable that the number of visitors is very limited. Government regulations NOM-09-TUR-2002 and NOM-08-TUR-200 establish the guidelines for visiting these sites. For others, special visitor permits from CONANP, SEMARNAT, or INAH are required.

En general, los sitios de turismo alternativo son atractivos focales de Baja California Sur y considerados como museos. El turismo alternativo es diferente al convencional, ya que implica un componente educativo, es decir, el turista aprenderĆ” de la experiencia de estar en estrecho contacto con el patrimonio natural y cultural.

Study and Research of Sharks Behavior in Mexico.

There are 104 recorded species of sharks in the Gulf of Mexico, and Baja California has one of the best places in the world to dive with sharks: Cabo Pulmo. This site is now a National Marine Park and a refuge for sharks. It contains 11 species of sharks including the Galapagos shark, blacktip shark, bull shark and whale shark.

Estudio e InvestigaciĆ³n del comportamiento de los Tiburones en MĆ©xico

Existen 104 especies registradas de tiburones en MĆ©xico, y el Golfo de California tiene uno de los mejores lugares del mundo para bucear con los escualos: Cabo Pulmo. Este sitio es en la actualidad un Parque Marino Nacional y refugio de tiburones. Alberga 11 especies de tiburones, entre ellas el tiburĆ³n galĆ”pago, tiburĆ³n puntas negras, tiburĆ³n toro y tiburĆ³n ballena.
