The Los Cabos International Film Festival starts with the opening of the La Baja Inspira Call for Entries, a programme with a strong link to the Baja California peninsula.
Launched in 2021, this program was created to give visibility and promotion to filmmakers from the region and films whose stories or landscapes are set in Baja California or Baja California Sur. Thanks to the enthusiastic response from the public, La Baja Inspira has evolved into a programme that travels throughout the Baja California Peninsula and brings free films to public and school spaces throughout the year.
To date, this project has visited more than 10 municipalities and 20 venues, giving the community the opportunity to interact with guest filmmakers through talks, Q&A sessions, and playful activities.

Applications will be accepted from 4 March to 30 April for feature films and short films (fiction or documentary) produced in Mexico between 2022 and 2025, as long as they have a direct relationship with Baja California or Baja California Sur.
Framed in one of the most beautiful places in Mexico, the Los Cabos International Film Festival is a unique space that seeks to build a meeting point and dialogue. Thanks to the titles that make up its programme, its guests and the organisation of various activities for film industry professionals, it has established itself as one of the most eagerly awaited events by the public and the specialised press.
Baja Inspira was created at the Los Cabos International Film Festival in 2021 as a section to showcase and promote the talent of filmmakers from the region and the diversity and richness of its landscapes. Later, in 2023 and 2024, we managed to take the program that makes up this section on a tour of the Baja California peninsula with free screenings in public and school spaces, reaching more than 20 venues in 10 municipalities. For this year, we want to continue adding new spaces.
In addition, some of the filmmakers have been able to share their experiences, knowledge, and advice with young students from some schools and universities to broaden their connections with film and promote creation and interest in this discipline from different perspectives.
