Restaurando Nuestra Historia AC was officially established in July 2011 with the goal of conserving and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Baja California Sur.
Since that time, the organization has spearheaded the promotion of the community and the last seven years have seen many triumphs. The emphasis has been on supporting regional handicrafts as well as music, dance and local cuisines by means of artisan and gastronomy festivals.
Through these events, the story is spread and the interest in our town grows. Training workshops have been provided and new sources of employment have been created that result in a better quality of life for the residents.
The funds from the first gastronomy festival were directed to the restoration of the La Ramona Smokestack in El Triunfo. The work was completed in alliance with the International Community Foundation, Tenaja Holdings, Carem A.C. from Tecate, Baja California. All dedicated so much of their time and efforts to this community icon.
The second festival, contributed to the restoration of the Old Theater, which is located within the facilities of the historic building known as Municipal House.
The third festival allocated funds to the Cultural Scholarship Program for the children of El Triunfo.
