Whale watching in Mexico began as a formal activity in 1980. The San Ignacio Lagoon is an example of how together organized societies, communities and government can conserve protected natural areas as a tourist attraction.
“The bay of Los Cabos is a point of great importance for whale watching, this site shows the greatest diversity of whales, especially the humpback whale. More than 10 thousand whales visit Los Cabos a year to reproduce and have their young In turn, this show is an attraction for tourism. It is our responsibility to take care of the animals so that they continue to visit our destination safely. ” Science Master Carlos Godinez Reyes. Director Cabo Pulmo
All events are free admission, the aim of the festival is to generate awareness and belonging to the community to protect this species. Your donation can save a whale and its young. Participate in the fundraising RIFA or donate directly on Lobos Marinos y RABEN foundations website.
