The press conference was held for the 9th edition of Expo Moda 2024, which will be held on November 20, 2024, at Monroy Hall in San Jose del Cabo. The event will benefit the Smile International program through the Los Cabos Rotary Club, which seeks to support children with cleft palates with free operations.
Rafael García Ceseña, the Expo’s General Director, said at a press conference at Sierra de la Laguna Brewery that every year, this event seeks to support associations and foundations that work for the welfare of citizens. Local entrepreneurs focused on health and beauty are expected to participate during the event, presenting their specialized services.
“Expo Moda always goes hand in hand with a true social cause. On this occasion, we are working with the Rotary Club Los Cabos with Smile International, a foundation that focuses on helping children. This event focuses on the revolutionary theme,” said Rafael Garcia.
During 12 years, the Smile International program has benefited around 360 children with cleft palate operations. Linda Mchatton, President of the Los Cabos Rotary Club, explained that specialist surgeons from the United States participate twice a year in this program.
“We are being invited to participate with the Los Cabos Rotary Club for the specific program of Smiles, which is in charge of cleft palate and cleft lip operations. The program is twice a year; the doctors come from the United States, and the Rotary Club supports them with all the logistics and operations in Los Cabos. Each day, the number of children benefited is different, but in 12 years, this project has already operated on around 360 patients.”
During the press conference, Jennifer Gonzalez, a model who has participated in Expo Moda since the first edition, and Jesus Corral, the outgoing president of Club Rotario Los Cabos, also participated. The locations where tickets will be sold will be announced in the next few days, so stay tuned. It was emphasized that all events organized by the association are entirely altruistic, with the goal of improving the living conditions of children in the municipality.
The upcoming event will showcase a vibrant and true feast of colours, bringing together designers, brands, models, and fashion industry professionals.
