Lilzi Orcí’s words

Before introducing each member and their functions, Lilzi Orcí emphasized the Council’s importance in implementing the AHLC’s action plan, stressing that it is elected by the assembly, which is the association’s highest authority.

“The members of the AHLC Council outline the action plan that works within the office. Currently, we have 95 member hotels, representing more than 19,000 rooms in the destination. All segments and zones are represented: Cabo San Lucas, the corridor, San Jose del Cabo and East Cape. One of the functions of the Council is to integrate all the zones and segments, such as the all-inclusive, the European plan, timeshare and especially the luxury segment, which has grown exponentially in recent years,” he explained, adding: “We are the executors of the entire plan that the councillors outline, based on the needs of the destination,” he said.

Lilzi Orcí also highlighted that the councillors donate their time for this work and introduced the AHLC operational team:

  • Elisa Araoz – Director
  • Yuriria Ochoa – Training Manager
  • Alberto Pérez – Administration Manager
  • Sergio Gómez – Statistics and Sustainability Manager
  • Karen Pérez – Executive Assistant

2024 results and expectations for the future

Lilzi also took stock of 2024, which started with uncertainty due to exponential growth in previous years. However, the results were positive:

“We will finish 2024 with an average annual occupancy rate of 70%. This is a healthy figure that we have maintained for three consecutive years. It enables us to continue growing without over-saturating the destination or increasing its burden.” he explained.

In addition, he stressed that the destination’s promotion strategy seeks to increase economic revenue without necessarily attracting more tourists, prioritizing the destination’s sustainability.

The event closed with a call for unity and collaboration among member hotels, reaffirming the AHLC’s commitment to Los Cabos’s orderly and sustainable growth.
