The first Mole Festival in Todos Santos promises both, local and tourist, will have a unique culinary experience where different types of mole will be prepared.
This Friday the 26th of April from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm taste the creations of chefs from different parts of Mexico that will delight the community with recipes from one of the most special dishes in the country.
The Mole Festival is an event with a cause that seeks to help the gramps of town thanks to the initiative of Father Jorge Ramirez, from the Nuestra Señora de Pilar, so they are taking care of and accompanied.
The goal is to raise funds to build a space called “Casa de Día“ and, also, support with the feeding of the elderly in the church dining room, they receive approximately 25 people a day.
The appointment is in the Todos Santos main plaza to experience the festival with friends and family, taste, smell and enjoy the cuisine of 19 chefs who will present mole from Yucatan, Jalisco, Oaxaca, Nayarit, Veracruz, Chiapas, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Morelia and, of course, from Baja California Sur under the direction of chef Gilberto Morales from the Outpost restaurant.
Try from the white mole, also known as bride’s mole, original from the center of the country based on pulque and amaranth, to the mole with local ingredients such as date, so the diner can feel the flavors of the Baja California Sur peninsula.
The ticket has a cost of $350 in pre-sale and $400 on the day of the festival. You can buy them in Cabo San Lucas in the restaurant of one of the organizing chefs, Ariosto Antonio, in Aguacate Fish, and OutPost. In La Paz, they are for sale in the offices of CANIRAC, and in Todos Santos you can obtain them in the Nuestra Señora de Pilar.
The ticket includes a portion of the 17 types of mole, as well as different amenities during the event such as the presentation of local artists, and a cooking class to know the correct way to prepare this prehispanic dish.
