On Thursday, May 16, at the restaurant, Sunset Mona Lisa, a press conference was held to receive the H Distinction on behalf of the authorities.
Distinctive H was implemented in Mexico since 1990 as a program for all fixed food and beverage establishments in an attempt to reduce the incidence of foodborne diseases to national and international tourists.
It is a recognition granted by the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health for complying with the hygiene standards established by the Mexican Standard NMX-F605 NORMEX 2004.
At the press conference were present: Giuseppe Napoli, Director of Operations, Chef Casiano Reyes, Giammarco Vela, President of CANIRAC at the state level and Director of Grupo Monalisa, Luis Araiza, Secretary of Tourism and Rodrigo Esponda, Director of Los Cabos tourism trust, who, in turn, gave the certificates.
The Monalisa Group is the first in Baja California Sur to receive this recognition without belonging to a hotel. Until now the Distinctive H had only been granted to restaurants and bars that are integrated into resorts, so this award is a double celebration for all the team that makes up Grupo Monalisa.
Rodrigo Esponda said that this type of recognition motivates travelers to come to the tourist destination and that the Sunset Mona Lisa restaurant has helped to promote Los Cabos thanks to the partners and developers falling in love with their cuisine and spectacular views.
The Distinctive H was awarded to restaurants that are part of Grupo Monalisa: Laurus ICC Banquets, Sunset Point Bar, Sunset Monalisa, Laurus Bar, and Ocean Terrace.
