Los Cabos Lands in the Metaverse: An Immersive Museum to Discover the Destination

The Los Cabos Tourism Trust (FITURCA) is excited to announce its entry into the metaverse through a partnership with NOSTRA, a prominent immersive experience company based in Dubai. This innovative project aims to provide visitors with a unique and educational experience that highlights Los Cabos’s cultural and natural richness.

Located in the NOSTRA metaverse, the Los Cabos virtual space is designed as an immersive museum with four outdoor domes and a central hall. Through this digital environment, visitors can explore the activities that bring the destination to life: gastronomy, art and culture, sustainability, golf, and nature. This platform represents an opportunity for diverse generations to discover and rediscover what Los Cabos offers and prepare for its most iconic adventures.


The gateway to the Los Cabos metaverse is the Oculus 2 or 3, Meta’s reality glasses. Users must log into Meta Horizon’s Facebook Market and download the NOSTRA metaverse. Once inside, they can access the virtual world of Los Cabos. An informative microsite was also created that allows users to explore this virtual space through Facebook Meta Horizon. People who do not have Meta’s virtual reality glasses can enter as guests.


“The partnership with NOSTRA allows us to attract monthly visitors from all over the world. Countries such as Mexico, the United States, Canada, Brazil, Dubai, the United Kingdom and Spain will be part of our potential audience through this space,” said Rodrigo Esponda, Director General of FITURCA.

“Over the past five years, we have worked tirelessly to get to this moment, and today, we find ourselves seeding an even brighter future for Los Cabos. Our commitment to innovation and sustainable development drives us forward, envisioning the opportunities that the coming years hold for us,” added Rodrigo Esponda.

New immersive digital ecosystem, new travel experience

Another innovation of the destination was the renovation of the Visita Los Cabos digital ecosystem, which revolutionized the way travellers experience its extensive tourism offering. This platform sets a new standard in Mexico, leveraging technology to create an inclusive, accessible, personalized digital ecosystem unlike any other country or Latin America. The immersive platform brings the destination to life through imagery, intuitive navigation and innovative features.


Redesigned around three key pillars: inclusion through accessibility, digital experiences, and immersive visual storytelling, the new digital ecosystem provides a variety of enhanced features, including:

  • Increased accessibility: By partnering with AudioEye, Los Cabos ensures an inclusive online experience. The AudioEye accessibility toolbar allows users to customize their experience with colour contrast adjustments, text resizing, and font adjustments. It makes the digital ecosystem navigable for visitors with low vision, dyslexia, colour blindness, and other visual impairments.


  • Customized Planning Functions: AI-powered recommendations, including interactive flight maps and itinerary planning tools, provide travellers with an engaging and informative planning experience. In addition, immersive 360° tours allow visitors to explore activities and experiences before booking virtually.
  • Curated content and immersive storytelling: sections dedicated to different travel styles, showcasing the diversity of experiences available in Los Cabos, such as rural tourism, wellness, sustainability and gastronomic offerings, among many more. The videos and images were created by photographer Ben Horton, who captured the destination’s natural beauty in every shot.
