On Thursday, February 20th, 2025, the press conference of SkyBike, the new activity of Cactus Tours, took place. It was announced with great fanfare its inclusion in the Guinness World Record as “the longest bicycle zip line in the world”, whose new activity is a milestone that positions Los Cabos as a reference in adventure tourism.
Since its inception, Cactus Tours has been characterized by offering unique and challenging experiences in contact with nature. Today, they have taken adventure to new heights by building a zip-line course that not only challenges the limits of height but also demonstrates how far determination and teamwork can go.
The 339.39-metre line over spectacular scenery has been officially recognized as the longest zip line in the world, setting an unprecedented standard in the adventure tourism industry in Los Cabos.
Francisco Orrantia, General Director of Cactus Tours, chaired the press conference, which was attended by Alfredo Arista Rueda, representative of Guinness World Records; José Pizarro, architect who designed the project; Rodrigo Esponda, General Director of FITURCA; Víctor Montaño, representative of the XV Town Hall of Los Cabos; and Fernando Ojeda, representing the Ministry of Tourism and Economy of Baja California Sur.
“We gather here to present the longest bicycle zip line in the world. A project that represents innovation, adventure and, above all, great pride for Los Cabos. This day is significant for Cactus Tours, a Cabo company that, since its founding in 2007, has been dedicated to innovating and expanding its offer of outdoor adventure activities. Today Los Cabos enters the history books, it is not just a record to be registered and kept in a list; this record is a living experience that people will feel, enjoy and remember forever. It is a feat that not only puts Los Cabos in the world’s spotlight but also allows us to offer visitors an unprecedented adventure, one more reason to choose this destination over any other. I want to thank all the people who made this dream possible,” said Francisco Orrantía.
In his emotional speech, Orrantia also thanked his partner and co-founder, Ricardo Londoño, for his mission and unconditional support; the architect José Pizarro; the General Director, Mateo Londoño; the Operations Manager, Gustavo Medina; the Digital Marketing Director, Reyna Orrantia; the collaborators, whose effort, dedication and passion have been key in every step of this journey; and, finally, his clients, for trusting in the project, as well as the authorities who have accompanied the promotion and growth of the destination.
He also extended special thanks to his family “because behind every achievement, every effort and every dream come true, there is the unconditional support of the family that is not always seen. Thanks to them, today Los Cabos shines brighter than ever”.
Architect José Pizarro referred to the safety standards that the project complies with. “We guarantee that this is a safe project. It has all the standards and requirements demanded at the international level,” he said. He also compared this work of art to “a carbon copy of a feeling that is kept in the soul.”
This bicycle zip is the longest and the only one facing the sea. Imagine pedalling through the air while enjoying a spectacular coastline and Pacific Ocean view. During whale season, you’ll see majestic mammals jumping and playing in the water and experience the thrill of this adventure.
This first Guinness World Record is a testament to what Los Cabos stands for: innovation, quality and unrivalled experiences.
