Each edition of the Los Cabos International Film Festival is a collective heartbeat, a blend of cinema, emotions, and natural beauty that takes form in an image: the official poster. This year, 2025, that first line is once again in the hands of the creative community of Baja California Sur.
The call for applications is now open and will close on June 30. In collaboration with the Institute of Culture and Arts in the Municipality of Los Cabos, the festival invites graphic and plastic artists to design the official image that will accompany the event in its international projection.
“A festival is like a living organism, it never stops,” says Maru Garzón, Artistic Director. “Although we take a short break after each edition, the work continues. This call to design the poster is our starting flag. We’re excited because it’s a way of building the festival together”.
The intention is clear: to consolidate a link with local talent. The poster not only represents the festival’s identity but also offers a contemporary look at Los Cabos from the inside. The image of the previous edition was deeply celebrated for its sensitivity and symbolism. “It presented a different face of the destination, a more subtle, more intimate story. We received a lot of compliments for that attachment and that strength at the same time”.
This year, the focus remains the same: we are looking for a fresh, current proposal that reflects a young, dynamic and accessible festival, without losing sight of the exaltation of cinematographic art. The call for entries is primarily aimed at creators from Baja California Sur. The technical guidelines are available on the official website.
Beyond the visual, the festival also works to preserve the essential: closeness, congruence and authenticity. “Coming back after a break was more complex than simply continuing. But it was also more satisfying. We achieved a condensed edition, without losing the DNA that defines us”.
And if there is one thing that distinguishes the Los Cabos International Film Festival, it is its relationship with the place: “The open-air screenings, in natural and emblematic spaces of the destination, give it an identity that is not repeated anywhere else in the world.
