When we arrived at Hacienda Cocina y Cantina, the feeling of being in a Mexican place, with hacienda-style architectural flashes and vibrant colors like orange and yellow, transport you to a special place.
Right on the shore at the emblematic El Medano beach, and with incredible views to the cruises and the Arch of Cabo San Lucas, the restaurant welcomes its guests with a cantina type bar with craft beers, mezcal, tequila, and amazing cocktails.
The cantina has typical Mexican appetizers so you can taste Mexico while waiting for your table or, if you prefer, you can stay at the bar all night to enjoy a wide menu of artisan drinks. The design of Hacienda Cocina and Cantina harmonizes the space with the sea in the distance, its imposing palapa that covers half of the restaurant and, of course, exquisite traditional Mexican cuisine accompanied by mixology. Hacienda Cocina and Cantina is participating at Culinary Awards Los Cabos 2019 to reiterate its commitment to the culinary excellence of the destination in the public vote categories:
The menu it’s under the direction of chef Julio Cesar Gutierrez, who creates fresh dishes like the “Pacific Ocean vs Sea of Cortez”, in which half of the plate is a shrimp serranito, product that you can only find in the Sea of Cortez and on the other side is the cabrilla, ingredient that its only in the Pacific Ocean.
The cleverness of chef Julio’s dishes it’s accompanied by Andres’s cocktails, the star mixologist of Hacienda Cocina and Cantina. Andres made a demonstration of his abilities with his shaker and choose unique ingredients like the grasshoppers, dehydrated lemon, and peach liquor made by him to create tequila and mezcal cocktails.
In the end, the chef delighted us with a grilled octopus perfectly cooked, and Andres prepared a peach and vanilla “carajillo”, an exclusive personal recipe. In this way, TENDENCIA closed the afternoon with Hacienda Cocina and Cantina, looking forward to coming back soon to feel one more time at home.
