On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the Documentary Film Club held a press conference at the Esquina Choyera in San José del Cabo to announce the 10th edition of Ambulante Presenta. The event’s opening will occur tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, featuring the film “Breaking la Vida” by Abraham Escobedo-Salas. The screenings will be held every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. until November 12, 2024, at the Casa de la Cultura Prof. Alfredo Green González in San José del Cabo, and admission is free.
“I was asked when we belonged to the Documentary Film Club circuit, and it reminded me that, precisely ten years ago, we started and are working constantly with the people of Ambulante Presenta. We are delighted that of the 18 documentaries that will be shown nationwide, 15 will be with us. Hence, this is the most extensive documentary tour we have,” said Chucho Montaño, who acted as presenter.
He also thanked the sponsors and those who participated in the main table, Mrs. Griselda Camarillo, Director of Casa de Cultura Prof. Alfredo Green, Mtro. Cuauhtémoc Carmona, Director of Social Development, Mtra. Ruth Cota, representative of the Golden Seats.
The main objectives of Ambulante Presenta and the Cine Club Documental are to promote the exhibition of Mexican documentary films and the formation of new audiences, managers, and alternative spaces for documentary films in our country through an exhibition circuit and mediation activities that facilitate equal access and encounters between filmmakers, audiences, and social actors.
