The tribute to the King of Pop will take place on December 11 at Quivira Golf Club, with proceeds supporting Fundación Lety Coppel’s social programs throughout Baja California Sur.
Los Cabos, Baja California Sur — Music, entertainment, and philanthropy will come together on December 11 as “This Is Michael,” an internationally acclaimed tribute to Michael Jackson, arrives in Los Cabos for a special performance at Quivira Golf Club in support of Fundación Lety Coppel.
During a press conference, representatives of the foundation shared details about the concert and highlighted the social programs that will benefit from funds raised by the event.
The production features an international cast, including dancers and musicians who previously worked with the King of Pop. Running approximately 120 minutes, “This Is Michael” takes audiences on a journey through Michael Jackson’s greatest hits, iconic choreography, and unforgettable career moments, celebrating the legacy of one of the most influential artists in contemporary music.
After successful performances in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and Mexico City, the tour will conclude its Mexico run in Los Cabos, once again placing the destination on the map for world-class live entertainment.
A Concert That Gives Back
All proceeds from the event will directly support nearly 20 ongoing social programs operated by Fundación Lety Coppel across Baja California Sur.
Among these initiatives is the foundation’s Mobile Medical Unit, which delivers healthcare services not only in the state’s major cities but also in rural communities and underserved areas where access to medical care is often limited.
The foundation also provides breakfast programs for children, distributes backpacks and school supplies, delivers monthly food packages to senior citizens, offers financial assistance to children with disabilities or cancer, and supplies care kits for patients undergoing oncology treatments.
Through its Community Assistance Center, the organization provides approximately 800 free consultations each month in general medicine, nutrition, psychology, educational psychology, and physical rehabilitation.
The center also serves more than 100 senior citizens, offering yoga, fitness classes, and social activities three times a week to promote health, well-being, and community engagement.
Empowering Families Through Self-Employment
One of Fundación Lety Coppel’s core initiatives focuses on vocational training and entrepreneurship, providing participants with practical skills that allow them to generate income from home.
Current courses include jewelry making, baking, sewing, hairstyling, and basic cooking. These workshops are especially valuable for mothers and caregivers of children with disabilities who are unable to maintain traditional full-time employment. Many graduates have gone on to launch their own small businesses.
The foundation offers these training programs year-round, opening new classes as each group completes its curriculum.
The Community as Part of the Solution
Fundación Lety Coppel’s programs are sustained through multiple sources of funding. Approximately 50% of its resources come from voluntary guest donations at participating hotels, 30% from corporate partners and recurring donors, while the remaining 20% is generated through fundraising events.
That is why events such as “This Is Michael” play such an important role: they allow the community to enjoy a world-class entertainment experience while directly supporting families in need.
The foundation emphasized that every contribution—regardless of its size—can help provide food, medicine, diapers, therapy sessions, or professional care for someone facing difficult circumstances.
“All the gold in the world means nothing. What truly lasts are the good deeds we do for others.”
This quote by Adolfo Prieto, shared during the presentation, reflects the philosophy that guides Fundación Lety Coppel’s mission.
