Beyond the Crown, Miss Universe México 2026 Leaves a Powerful Impression of Los Cabos: A Destination Capable of Bringing People Together, Building Alliances, and Transforming Collaboration into an Extraordinary Calling Card Across Mexico

Hotels, restaurants, designers, media outlets, tourism organizations, the State Government, and the 15th Los Cabos City Council contributed venues, hospitality, and talent to host one of the highest-profile national events ever held in the destination.

From August 18 through 29, the 32 representatives from across Mexico visited a variety of locations in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo, discovering the destination’s hospitality, culinary scene, and creativity through some of its most iconic settings.

The pageant arrived during the heart of the low season, a period when tourism activity traditionally declines. The presence of participants, production teams, families, and supporters from different states brought renewed energy to the destination for nearly two weeks and helped generate significant economic activity.

Corazón Cabo, the Official Host Hotel

Corazón Cabo Resort & Spa served as the official host hotel and one of the main gathering points for Miss Universe México 2026.

In addition to hosting participants and members of the organization, the property hosted several official events. Its facilities were transformed into spaces for rehearsals, meetings, production, and pageant-related activities. Its location overlooking El Médano Beach and the diversity of its settings made Corazón Cabo the event’s epicenter.

Hospitality extended to other properties throughout the destination. Kadún Hotel Boutique hosted members of the image team—the glam team—as well as members of the press, while Grupo Solmar and Villa Group accommodated members of the judging panel.

The Historic District Transformed into a Spectacular Runway

One of the most significant moments took place in the Historic District of San José del Cabo. Teniente Antonio Mijares Public Plaza was transformed into an extraordinary open-air runway for the National Costume Competition, a celebration in which Mexico’s traditions, history, and symbols came to life through the designs presented by the participants.

The spectacular production created by the 15th Los Cabos City Council brought the pageant into one of the community’s most iconic public spaces.

The scale of the stage, the lighting, and the historic surroundings did more than add visual impact. They also projected an image of San José del Cabo, showcasing its architecture, cultural identity, and organizational capabilities before a national audience.

Los Cabos Also Showcased Its Culinary Scene

Restaurants played a fundamental role throughout the pageant. Amara Baja, Carbón Cabrón, Lumbre, Nicksan Palmilla, Tamarindos, and Toro Latin Kitchen joined as hosts and welcomed the participants at different moments during their stay.

Each gathering showcased a different facet of the culinary scene: contemporary concepts, distinctive cuisines, regional ingredients, and ideas that are part of the destination’s gastronomic evolution.

More than simply serving dinner, the restaurants shared experiences created by their chefs, staff members, and service teams. Through their venues and culinary offerings, the participants discovered another way of telling the story of the Los Cabos community. Their involvement demonstrated that gastronomy is also a powerful calling card and an essential part of the visitor experience.

Jewelry, Fashion, and Volunteer Work

The participants’ image was also supported by local creative talent. Renowned brands Indira&Isidro and Jonathan Sánchez shared their jewelry creations to complement several looks during the Grand Final.

Yolanda Guillén and the Instituto de Modas y Alta Costura Los Cabos volunteered their time, helping the representatives get dressed and making any necessary adjustments to their garments. Their contribution was one of the least visible to the public, yet one of the most important for the production of this scale: caring for every dress, responding immediately to unforeseen issues, and providing the support needed before each participant stepped onto the stage.

Yolanda Guillén also participated as a designer, dressing the three hosts of the Preliminary Competition: Alejandra Tijerina, Lorena López, and Fernanda Vázquez. Each wore a gown designed by Guillén, bringing her creative vision to the stage.

Designer Sergio Tirado, for his part, dressed Fátima Bosch throughout the pageant, creating a visual presence connected to the fashion and talent of Los Cabos. Inna Moll also wore one of his designs during the Grand Final.

The Press: Witnesses and a Link to Audiences

Media outlets maintained a constant presence and a strong commitment to covering Miss Universe México 2026, attending the different events and activities held throughout the pageant.

Reporters, photographers, camera operators, and content creators documented every stage of the competition, its settings, culinary experiences, hospitality, and the work behind each presentation.

Coverage involved long days and constant travel between different locations in Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Through news stories, interviews, photographs, videos, broadcasts, and digital content, each media outlet contributed its own perspective and allowed audiences to follow the event as it unfolded.

More than spectators, the media became the link between the pageant, the destination, and the public. Their work amplified Los Cabos’ visibility and documented an edition built through collaboration.

A Destination-Wide Alliance

The Los Cabos Hotel Association and the Los Cabos Tourism Board, FITURCA, were also part of the partner network. Their participation connected Miss Universe México with the destination’s tourism and hotel infrastructure.

Some collaborations were visible onstage; others took place behind the scenes. Nevertheless, each contributed to the overall experience.

Tierra Sagrada Hosted the Grand Final

Tierra Sagrada by Cabo Adventures served as the venue for the Miss Universe México 2026 Grand Final. Surrounded by the desert landscape that characterizes Baja California Sur, the venue welcomed more than one thousand people who gathered to support and cheer on their favorite participants. The judging panel included Aarón Mercury, Inna Moll, Dr. Luis Gil, and Ilda Ledesma, co-owner of Corazón Cabo Resort & Spa.

After an evening filled with emotion, María Fernanda Vargas, representing the state of Jalisco, was crowned Miss Universe México 2026.

One of the most emotional moments came when a visibly moved Fátima Bosch presented the crown to the new winner. In a joyful display of camaraderie, the participants gathered around to congratulate María Fernanda Vargas.

Beyond the Results

The Grand Final marked the culmination of a collective effort that brought together the tourism sector, private enterprise, state and municipal governments, the media, and the talent of the local community.

The trust the Miss Universe México 2026 Committee placed in Los Cabos, combined with the shared efforts of every partner, projected a powerful image of the destination: one capable of hosting major events, mobilizing its community, and transforming collaboration into an extraordinary platform for national exposure.

Behind every great stage is a network of people, companies, and institutions that makes it possible. Miss Universe México 2026 in Los Cabos demonstrated what can be achieved when a destination works together.
