The Koningsdam adds Loreto to the roster of tourist ships that dock there, describing it as a clean, safe city with a wide range of cultural and recreational attractions. We are delighted to let you know about the most recent news:

The crew and passengers were greeted warmly by the town’s residents, who hosted the reception in the historic Plaza Salvatierra, where Alvarado Davis and other municipal authorities presented a gift crafted by artisan hands of the Historic Capital of Californias.

  1. Loreto beach clean-up day

To raise public awareness and education of the impact of pollution, the necessity for countermeasures, and the routine maintenance and conservation of the municipality’s beaches.

With the assistance of local civil associations, educational institutions, and residents, the project included cleaning the north boardwalk beach and sorting waste to keep it from entering the sea. This initiative helped preserve Loreto’s natural environment and resources.

  1. Are you ready for the 2022 State Triathlon Serial in Loreto?

“The Loreto Sprint Triathlon”, as it has been dubbed, is expected to attract hundreds of local and out-of-town competitors. These athletes will face complex challenges in swimming, cycling, and running distances.

The State Serial is a triathlon that tours the different municipalities of Baja California Sur. Loreto is the host and venue for the grand finale of the competition, which will begin on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. on the seaside promenade near the lighthouse.

The triathlon’s disciplines comprise: Swimming (for 750 meters and takes place on the boardwalk of the port), Cycling (for 20 km from the boardwalk to the monument of FONATUR and back), and finally, Running Race (for 5 km through the Historical Center and ending at the boardwalk).

  1. Sandra Fiol’s Watercolour Exhibition in Loreto

The Kumutu hall opens its doors for you to enjoy the exhibition “Recorriendo el camino del colour” (“Touring the Path of Colour”) which is the work of plastic artist Sandra Guadalupe Fiol Collins, a retired preschool teacher with a degree in hearing and language. It will commence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, inside the exhibition hall of the Municipal Palace.

Sandra Guadalupe Fiol Collins, the artist, conveys her feelings and emotions by exposing vibrant colours, landscapes and seascapes fusing different colours, giving her work an exceptionally unique beauty. She applies the watercolour technique in her paintings, superimposing layers of semi-transparent colour from light to dark to create gradients and shadows.
