- The Culinary Trajectory Award went to Nicksan, which has enriched the gastronomic offer for three decades with an original cuisine concept created in Los Cabos through two generations.
On Thursday, November 9th, the 4th edition of the Culinary Awards Los Cabos awards ceremony was held at the prestigious Nobu Hotel Los Cabos venue: a scenario that captivated the guests from the moment of arrival, accompanied by a luxurious car show mounted by Mercedes Benz. The atmosphere was spectacular, with exquisitely prepared cocktails and impeccable coordination that made every moment unforgettable. We cannot fail to mention the extraordinary hosts who made the evening unique and memorable. Undoubtedly, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos was the ideal setting for this gala event.
Culinary Awards, organized by PR Solutions and Tendencia, celebrate the best culinary experiences in the destination. In a process that began in March this year, the following were evaluated. 169 restaurants. The winners in 36 categories were revealed: being 17determined by the online voting by the public, Seventeen were determined by a jury of 70 local experts, plus a new category proposed by the Jury Committee: ‘Jury Nominated Restaurant’. The latter winner was the Talay restaurant in Montage Los Cabos, recognized by the Jury Committee for its outstanding contribution to the local culinary scene.
The Organizing Committee presented Nicksan with the special ‘Culinary Trajectory’ award in recognition of the restaurant’s three decades of enriching Los Cabos’ gastronomic offerings with its unique culinary concept.
One of the most touching surprises of the evening was when the Organizing Committee, composed of Linda McHatton and Claudia del Pino, extended a very special recognition to the Gastronomic Criticdedicated to Claudia Velo for all her experience as an independent critic, she contributed with her reviews to the continuous growth of culinary excellence.
In addition, Reserva de la Familia José Cuervoy, sponsor of this fourth edition, presented two special awards to the restaurants participating in the Culinary Awards. Aldo Torres, account executive of Casa Cuervo, was in charge of naming the winners in these two particular categories: the first one was Agave + Chocolate’, which consisted of elaborating the best pairing with Tequila Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo and a dessert based on chocolate and the segundo Signature Cocktail RDF Platinum. The winner of both awards was Bar Esquina | Bahía Hotel & Beach House.
It is worth noting that, in this edition, a total of 34,540 votes were cast by the public through the Culinary Awards Application, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year. In addition, 12,933 users voted online for their favourite restaurants, representing an impressive 80% increase in participation over last year.
This prestigious event was attended by representatives from 95 restaurants that received at least one nomination. The evening was hosted by Amparo García, who provided an entertaining and jubilant atmosphere.
The cocktail reception during the Red Carpet was a unique experience set by Gramusik’s musical group; upon entering, guests were greeted with an immersive performance by Cosmic Trick. Guests celebrated the closing of the grand gala by heading to The Mbar, located at Nobu Residences, where guest DJ Alejandro Rivas and resident DJ Moises Pozos entertained the crowd.
The Culinary Awards Los Cabos received tremendous support from the auditing firm Crowe Mexico once again. The General Director, Ivan Bautista, played a vital role by personally delivering the envelopes containing the results of the meticulous counting and validation of the evaluation process. More than 18 companies joined forces to make this event a celebration and “the most important night of gastronomy in Los Cabos, Todos Santos and El Pescadero”.

This initiative seeks to encourage the participation of more restaurants in Baja California Sur in the “Al Rescate” program. It is essential to mention that this was the first edition where the use of plastics was reduced, fulfilling one of the sustainable development goals set by the 2030 United Nations General Assembly agenda.
The Culinary Awards Los Cabos Gastronomic Guide publishes an annual directory of 169 registered restaurants in Los Cabos to facilitate the exploration of the area’s tremendous gastronomic offerings.
