Members of the Los Cabos Rotary Club shared breakfast at Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences to discuss the work of surgeon Jeffrey J. Moses, who specializes in cleft lip and palate surgery for children. Jeffrey, a retired Rotarian and founder of the Smiles International Foundation, has exchanged Rotary flags at various events.
Dr. Jeffrey has performed specialized interventions in the Baja California peninsula for 39 years, starting in Ensenada in 1984.
In 2011, the clinic opened in Cabo San Lucas and provided cleft lip and palate surgeries in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Los Cabos. Patients may require up to 5 surgeries and receive medical follow-up as they grow. They have collaborated on performing various procedures, including corrective jaw surgeries on children at Hospital de Especialidades, to prevent further bone deformities and improve the quality of life for young patients.
In these interventions, Smiles International Foundation creates circles of friendship and solidarity, benefiting over 349 boys and girls from Sudcalifornia with surgical procedures.
They have set their sights on surpassing this number and achieving even greater success in the future.
