International Film Festival transforms tourism in Los Cabos with attractive cultural offerings.

Alejandra Paulin Albor, General Director of the Los Cabos International Film Festival, was invited to the weekly meeting of the Los Cabos Madrugadores Group on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. At a convivial breakfast, the festival’s return was announced with Encuentros de Cine, from December 4-8, 2024, whose proposal returns transformed with new ideas, new places, and great experiences.

“We have added a huge cultural offer in Los Cabos; it is perhaps one of the most important film events in Latin America, and it is located as a great film showcase. We have international alliances that have been achieved over the years and give visibility to the tourist side that combines culture and tourism,” Albor said, highlighting one of the significant contributions made by the festival.

He also communicated that this year, the horizons are expanding to San José del Cabo, which is integrated as a new venue for film screenings and activities in unique spaces such as Crania, the Wirikuta botanical park, Hotel El Ganzo, Casa Ballena, and Plaza Mijares. In addition, a presence is maintained in the traditional Cinemex Puerto Paraíso, located in Cabo San Lucas.

Although there are still no further details about the films to be premiered and the talents that will accompany them, Paulin Albor stressed that the Festival is a fact thanks to the financial support they have received from the Federal Government and sponsors.

One of their primary efforts at the moment is to obtain financial support from local, state, and municipal governments to maintain the Festival at the level of previous editions. On the other hand, they are negotiating with hotels to attract visitors to this event and achieve a more considerable echo at the national and international levels.

The director of the film festival said that within the Festival, there is a section called “Discover Los Cabos”, whose intention is to promote cultural tourism, without forgetting that they are also working on the screening of films in rural communities under their program “La Baja Inspira Itinerante” so that everyone has access to the seventh art.
