The Rotary Club Los Cabos A.C. celebrated on Monday, June 30th, 2025, its change of board of directors and the swearing-in ceremony for the period 2025-2026, with a cocktail party at the restaurant Señora Cocina Casa Cantina.
The Change of Buttons Ceremony is a flagship event within each Rotary Club, where the achievements of the previous year (2024-2025) are recognized and celebrated, and new projects are launched. It is a moment of renewal and continuity in the Club’s mission to serve the community and promote humanitarian service.
Rotary Club Los Cabos is guided by the Rotary philosophy, which is summed up in the following phrase: “To serve is an act that the one who performs it does not expect any gratitude, because the reward is in the satisfaction and joy he feels inside, even if there is no word, gesture or smile in return.” Guided by this principle, the Club works tirelessly to make a positive difference in the community and promote selfless service.

The event was conducted by the Master of Ceremonies and fellow Rotarian Jesús Corral, also known as “Chamuco”. The swearing-in ceremony was performed by Rear Admiral CG DEM Juan Manuel Santos, Commander of Naval Sector Cabo San Lucas, B.C.S., who administered the oath of office and swore in the members.

About Club Rotario Los Cabos: Club Rotario Los Cabos is an organisation dedicated to serving the community and promoting humanitarian service. Composed of dedicated leaders, the Club strives to make a positive impact through projects and activities that address both local and international needs. During the period 2024 – 2025, the following activities were carried out:

Smiles International Foundation, in collaboration with the Los Cabos Rotary Club, conducts clinic days twice a year, in February and August, providing free surgeries for children with cleft lip and palate conditions. So far, they have achieved 350 new smiles in 12 years, bringing a significant economic benefit to the Los Cabos area.
Youth Exchange: Since 2011, the Club has participated in cultural and educational exchanges, sending and receiving more than 20 young people from various countries. The Club funds this programme and requires a significant financial commitment. Cases such as Ronaldo, who, after receiving support from primary school through the scholarship programme, completed his exchange in Belgium and is now studying at university, and Miriam, who participated in the exchange programme as an outbound student in Taiwan this year, reflect the programme’s impact. This year, we participated in our inbound trip to Camille (Belgium), hosted by partners Olga Lidia Lucero and José Rubén Aréchiga.
Scholarship Programme: Supports young students from primary school to university with support for school supplies, backpacks, economic incentives, shoes, monthly payments, gifts and celebrations. The programme has been in place for over 10 years.
