From Los Cabos to the international stage, AMEXME’s National President opens a new chapter for Mexican women’s business leadership.
Mexico’s business leadership reaches a new milestone with the appointment of Ivett Bonifaz Famania as World Vice President II on the World Board of Directors of Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), chaired by Patricia Isabel García. She is the first Mexican woman to hold this position, marking a new chapter in her career and in the representation of Mexican women business owners worldwide.
For Los Cabos, this news carries special meaning. Ivett is part of AMEXME’s history in the destination as a founding member and former president of its local chapter. Her experience also includes serving as a national board member, a role that helped pave her path to AMEXME’s national presidency. Her new international responsibility is rooted in years of service, engagement, and collaboration among women business owners.
In 2023, she assumed the national presidency for the 2023–2026 term, with a commitment to advancing women’s economic empowerment and strengthening the association’s chapters throughout Mexico. Her recent reelection as National President provides continuity for an administration that has connected business education with AMEXME’s institutional development.
From the outset, her administration established an agenda focused on business education, innovation and technology, business networks among members, stronger legal frameworks and transparency, and the association’s visibility. These priorities reflect a vision that recognizes the importance of well-prepared businesses and an organization equipped to support their development.
During her presidency, this agenda has taken shape through educational initiatives such as the 2026 AMEXME National Women Entrepreneurs Program, designed to help participants structure their businesses, manage their finances, organize operations, and plan for growth. The program provides practical tools for women seeking to build stronger companies.
Her administration has also created opportunities to honor the association’s history. The Voices of Leadership and Legacy gathering, held in Mérida, brought together different generations of AMEXME members to share the experiences and lessons of those who have helped build the organization. Tendencia had the opportunity to participate in this initiative, which honors the women whose work has shaped the organization’s first 61 years and encourages them to pass their experience on to new generations.
Ivett’s reelection as AMEXME’s National President and her appointment to FCEM bring together two significant responsibilities: continuing her work with Mexican women business owners and contributing to the leadership of a global organization. Her presence in this role offers an opportunity to build broader connections and bring greater visibility to the talent and economic contributions of Mexican women.
At Tendencia, we celebrate this milestone and congratulate Ivett Bonifaz on a career that continues to carry her connection to Los Cabos. Seeing a businesswoman from our community become the first Mexican woman to assume this responsibility is a source of pride for both our destination and our country.
Congratulations, Ivett! May this new chapter bring meaningful connections, valuable learning experiences, and opportunities to continue advancing women business owners in Mexico and around the world.
