In addition to making life more beautiful, love songs also serve to name real-life events. In this case, “Amorcito Corazón”, the iconic song sung by Pedro Infante, also refers to the gastronomic event with a cause held by the 3rd edition on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Puerto Raíz restaurant, San José del Cabo.
Ten chefs from Los Cabos participated in a new event, and the proceeds benefited the foundations: “Amigos de los Niños de Cabo San Lucas, A.C.” and “Corazón de Niño”. The fundraiser aims to provide care and treatment to children with heart disease. Treatment of heart disease in infants may vary according to the severity and specific type of diagnosis. Some cases may require corrective surgery, while others can be managed with medication or regular monitoring.
Puerto Raíz is a kind of natural sanctuary near downtown San José del Cabo, with orchards and gardens. There, attendees were invited to connect with nature, gastronomy and themselves. Smiles, applause and the occasional tear of emotion were constant at the event. There was music by Daniel Idlizanka with the rhythms of Mala Rumba, a charreria presentation and an auction of an antique vehicle.
Ten culinary personalities cooked a feast of flavours, and Baja Wines was in charge of the wine selection. Participating Chefs were: Elizabeth Velis, Chefs in Cabo; Ángel Carbajal, from Nicksan; Héctor Morales, from Sunset Monalisa and Pan Di Bacco; Emanuele Olivero, from Riccio di Mare and Elihu Sepúlveda, from Solaz; Paolo Della Corte, from Muna by Nobu; Javier Plascencia, from Semillón; Yobet Mayo, from Playa Grande; Javier Galindo, from La Lupita; and Enrique Silva, from Tamarindos.
Once again, the gastronomy industry supports and strengthens charities by joining forces for the good of the community. “Compañeros en el bien y el mal, ni los años nos podrán pesar,” sang Pedro Infante in “Amorcito Corazón,” that iconic song. In “Amorcito Corazón,” he reminds us that we can rely on our partners in times of joy and hardship.
