The press conference for the gastronomic festival “Sabores de Sudcalifornia” will take place on March 10th, 2024, from 12 pm to 5 pm at Doña Pame restaurant in Miraflores. The conference was held at Casa Natalia Boutique Hotel.
This year, the festival will honour Armando Trasviña Taylor, an author, poet, and teacher. He wrote a book of culinary poetry dedicated to the empanada, tamale choyero, tacos de mantarraya and the indispensable flour tortilla. Armando’s son will receive recognition in his father’s name as part of his 91st birthday celebration. A program will include a poetry recitation in his honour.
In addition, Rene Holmos, Director of the group “Raíces Cabeñas A.C.”, will present his books on local history. By promoting South Californian literature, we can support local talent and help them gain more recognition.
