Mezquite Canyon

Fascinating, challenging, and completely instagrammable are the adjectives that you will use when you describe this adventure. From cacti and desert trees that seem to strive to reach the sky to a horizon that makes its way through the Sierra La Giganta, this canyon is a pleasant challenge for hiking lovers. Since it is a circuit, that gifts you with a landscape that changes with every step you take.

What geography describes as an accident resulting from a process of long-term erosion, has given us a fascinating setting with dynamic walls of volcanic rock, crystalline freshwater ponds, and an impressive amount of life hidden among the abundant vegetation that seems to be the everlasting outline for the desert’s spell. The Indiana Jones-like feeling of being just about to find a treasure will invade you from the first steps you take, and your intuition will prove you right!

Your emotions will shift as much as the horizon during the hike, where your balance, strength, and tolerance to heights will be put to the test to leave you feeling powerful at the end of the day, it is a delight for adventure fans!

Exploring the hidden gems of Baja California Sur is a desire that those of us who have fallen in love with this territory share and, there is no doubt that visiting the Mezquite Canyon is an expedition to do at least once in a life, obviously with the help of professional guides like Roberto Jonás López Hernández, who accompanied us on this occasion.

You will hardly define this experience as a conventional trip because you will surely discover a new version of yourself in the process.
