Having a virtual launch of a book is something new that Jairo Torres, author of La Tinta de mi cuerpo (The Ink of my Body), decided to do in the midst of the circumstances we are experiencing at the moment. Finding alternatives for social spaces and looking for ways to connect virtually is one of the many advantages that we have as a society in the 21st century.
Jairo, tourist expert and Los Cabos resident, through Rosa Ma. Porrúa Ediciones Facebook Live shared that “it is time to do something different, to think differently”, and that is exactly what he wants general with the publication of the book.
The author spoke about the process of writing the book and how he got up every morning, at 5:00 am, to write. Why did he write? Because he had a need to tell his story. A different story, atypical to the rest, and inspiring, which is why he dared to share it.
The narrative focuses on a child who from an early age lost his parents, for which he falls into criminal behavior, is arrested and jailed, and crosses the Rio Grande to achieve the American dream. After a series of situations, in the end he finds professional and personal success.
Continuing with the presentation on facebook, Jairo commented that the anxiety we live through the difficult times of quarantine, where we see everything gray, is actually the perfect opportunity to have brilliant ideas and a window to reinvent ourselves.
La Tinta de mi cuerpo, book in spanish will be on sale from April 4 on Amazon on both printed and digital versions, and the interest of the new author is to send a powerful message: “despite difficult events, you can come trough.”
Based on a true story, the book will take you by the hand in a critical moment that humanity is going through, where it all comes down to changing your thinking and therefore your actions.
