Enjoy the Christmas season in La Paz

The onset of winter in La Paz is marked by pleasant, extraordinary and magical weather, allowing visitors to relish the beauty of the beach, desert and mountain landscapes while engaging in various appealing activities that enhance and distinguish their stay.

If you’re planning your next vacation or searching for things to do during the holiday season, we have a list of activities you must enjoy in La Paz.

  • Enjoy the fun of sun, sand, and lots of wind.

La Ventana and El Sargento, two villages 40 minutes from La Paz, are ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing thanks to the strong wind gusts between November and April.

If you are not so adventurous, you can find activities such as diving, snorkelling, sport fishing and walks to Cerralvo Island that allow a unique contact with nature; also, enjoy the mountainous beach environment by taking a mountain bike ride or walking along the dirt trails, which guarantee a safe experience at all times.

A critical issue to consider is that this is the season par excellence for sightings. From November to April, the whale shark makes its migratory route, breeding and feeding; take the opportunity to swim with this giant of more than 12 meters long!

Swimming with sea lions has become one of the most exciting activities. From September through May, travellers can enjoy this unmissable experience on Espiritu Santo Island, a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Natural Heritage Site and home to the country’s largest permanent colony of this species.

One of the most awe-inspiring natural sights is seeing grey whales in their natural habitat. We highly recommend visiting Puerto Chale, where you can observe these magnificent creatures in a private and intimate setting. This visit is highly recommended for anyone who loves nature.

Pack your bags this winter and enjoy the activities La Paz offers!
