The cliché of falling leaves and low temperatures disappears when visiting Baja California Sur. The arrival of this season offers the perfect pleasant weather for travelers to begin an adventure and explore the contrasting landscapes of this peninsula. It’s time to create a different image of autumn!
La Ventana
This little town is near El Sargento. The two are considered the capital of kite and windsurfing. In fact, La Ventana has multiple schools that will teach you everything you need to know about this sport. You’ll feel as if you can fly like a bird over the sea.
You may be surprised to know that, in this place, families were dedicated to fishing and pearl diving. One of the most popular legends says that this is where the “Great Lemon” was extracted: the enormous pearl that rests in the crown of Queen Elizabeth II.
Isla Cerralvo
It will be difficult to resist visiting the island that captured the heart of the explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Even from the boat, the crystal-clear waters allow you to see the reefs teeming with marine life! Just imagine how it would feel to snorkel or dive in the world’s aquarium. Island life is also found out of the sea. The rock formations have their own ecosystem and provide an excellent opportunity for climbing.
Bonus: This season is perfect for whale shark watching. Take advantage of your stay in La Paz and go for a swim with the world’s largest fish! Starting in October, several tour companies offer the opportunity to swim with the noble whale shark.
