On Wednesday, March 13, 2024, was the press conference for the “Chefs for Los Cabos” event. As in the previous year, the proceeds will go to Dibujando Nuestro Sueño, and the proceeds from the raffles will be used for strabismus (abnormal alignment of the eyes such as a squint) surgeries for children.
On Saturday, April 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, the doors will be open for the event that brings together 24 Chefs cooking for a social cause. Expect a delightful experience of great food, music, and other amazing surprises. Tickets are priced at 1,800 pesos and will be available through Club Rotario CSL Del Mar. A word of warning: It is essential to arrive before 7:00 pm since organizers will not admit diners afterwards. The event ends at 10 pm.
The venue will be Suelo Sur, a dynamic community space where a restaurant and open-air kitchen coexist with a bar under a 200-year-old guamúchil tree. Located in the heart of San Jose del Cabo, the venue has native gardens, green meeting spaces, and a barn for private events.
“Last year, we saw all the effort from each of you as chefs and a team, and we are very flattered and appreciative that you chose us again. We are also focused on supporting children through education. The objective of this project is to empower every child in Los Cabos,” said Omar Manzano of Drawing Our Dream.
Jesús “Chucho” Montaño acted as the presenter during the press conference. Edgar Román, the founding chef of the event and President of Club Vatel BCS; Guillermo J. Gómez, the chef of Suelo Sur; Omar Manzano Miranda representing Dibujando Nuestros Sueños, Pepe Acosta from Club Rotario Cabo San Lucas del Mar, and Luis Fernando Garduño from Alianza para la Seguridad Alimentaria de BCS were also in attendance at the conference.
Chef Guillermo J. Gómez, from Suelo Sur, invited the attendees to a tour of the facilities and treated the press and guests to delicious chorizos on country bread with tomato sauce, leaf spread, Miraflores chorizo pancake and a selection of exquisitely flavoured waters.
